ALLOWING CEOs TO SET THE FOREIGN POLICY AGENDA FOR NORTH AMERICA ENDANGERS DEMOCRACY IN CANADA

Canadian CEOs affiliated to the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE) will be meeting with Mexican counterparts and the President of Mexico on March 8. This meeting is timed to take place just before the three heads-of-state from Canada-Mexico-USA are scheduled to meet in Cancun. Having had great success in influencing the ‘three amigos’ agenda on security and prosperity in March 2005, this meeting has all the hallmarks of a repeat engagement where the private sector gets unfettered access to leaders of the NAFTA nations.
