Canadian government approach to the IV Summit of the Americas

Both leading up to and during the IV Summit of the Americas the Canadian government appeared preoccupied with promoting trade liberalization and missed the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the theme for this Summit – Creating jobs to confront poverty and strengthen democratic governance. Following the IV Summit, Common Frontiers wrote a letter to Prime Minister Martin outlining some of the areas where Canada’s leadership could have made a difference.
