The upcoming Presidential elections in Colombia offer a historic opportunity for Colombians to transform their Democracy and bring about lasting peace. Colombians both in the country and abroad are mobilizing to defend their human right to fair and free elections.
We are joining the international community and mobilizing a Canada/Quebec delegation to accompany the Presidential elections on May 29, 2022. Join Common Frontiers, the Colombian Working Group, and the Canada Colombia Solidarity Committee as we accompany and report on the Colombian Presidential election on May 29, 2022.
Dates: May 22-June 1, 2022
In-country expenses: $1,100/person. This will include the following: transportation, meals, lodging, elections vest, elections monitoring orientation, and simultaneous interpretation. This does not include travel to and from Bogota Colombia, which must be covered and arranged by participants.
Itinerary: During the visit, the delegation will meet with electoral council representatives, other electoral observers, political parties, human rights organizations, labour, and social-movement representatives, and social-movement leaders involved in the recent national strike.
