On March 30, the moratorium on evictions will expire in Brazil. The MST has identified 200 encampments and pre-settlement areas that are subject to eviction orders.

It’s not just the MST that is threatened with mass evictions. Quilombolas, indigenous areas, and urban tenants all face eviction.

The Bolsonaro government and its right-wing allies, especially the rural elites, are preparing to use both governmental forces (civil and military) and private militias to enforce court-ordered evictions.

We are working with the MST and other people’s organizations to build a network to respond to these pending evictions.
